Community service is a big part of TAMS, and of course, TMS. TMS provides many opportunities for its members to give back to the community AND get acquainted with the medical field at the same time. Check out our volunteer choices below!
Good Samaritan Society Denton Village
A joint project with HOPE, nursing home volunteering provides the opportunity to socialize with Denton’s elderly residents. Service includes helping with the various activities senior homes usually host for their residents (bingo, arts/crafts, fingernail painting, reading sessions, etc.). We will meet every week on Tuesday and Thursday. Check out the HOPE website (www.hopecorner.org) for more information and to sign up! Ask Nina if you have any questions!

Denton State Supported Living Center
State supported living centers support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The Denton State Supported Living Center is a whopping 189-acres; it's almost like a small city! Volunteering includes assisting doctors and nurses at the infirmary, helping out therapists and psychologists at therapy centers, and catering towards the residents' needs (ie. wrapping gifts around Christmas time). Parent consent is required; the form is located below (will upload document later). We'll meet every week on Monday and Wednesday, and sign ups will go up every week on the TMS Facebook page! Ask Louisa if you have any questions!
